Christopher Webb
About Christopher
Originally from Halifax, Webb studied painting under the tutelage of his grandmother, artist Madeleine Asprey (Pavia). Webb graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a degree in Political Science. He went on to create and implement the Career Starts Program as a Human Resources Consultant with the Government of Nova Scotia. Soon after, he realized that painting was his true calling and made a pilgrimage back to his ancestral homeland of Italy. He lived for one year in the remote Calabrian village of Amantea and then spent another eight months in Florence.
His artwork can be found in public and private collections across Europe and North America. He is an active member of the arts community and in 2006 was named the President of Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS – representing Nova Scotia’s artists.) He is a founding member of Nova Scotia Cultural Action Network (NSCAN). He has also served as a Member of the Board of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. He recently has taken on the curatorial role at Pavia Gallery.
Over the years, Webb has delivered lectures and presentations to hundreds businesses and organizations across North America. Locally, he has been invited to guest lecture at academic institutions including the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD), Dalhousie University, Saint Mary's University and Mount Saint Vincent University. He is a professional, dedicated, results oriented leader with over 16 years of experience working with public, private and not-for-profit organizations.
Webb also leads Art & Cultural Excursions every year to Italy with his partner Victoria Foulger. He currently resides with family in Herring Cove, Nova Scotia. For more information visit www.cwebb.ca.
